FFXML is an database for form filling application or restricted form of XML, the Extensible Markup Language [REC-xml]. By construction, FFXML documents are conforming XML documents. 2 Documents [Definition: A data object is an FFXML document if it is well-formed, as defined in this specification. In addition, the FFXML document is valid if it meets certain further constraints.] Each FFXML document has both a logical and a physical structure. Physically, the document is composed of units called entities. An entity may refer to other entities to cause their inclusion in the document. A document begins in a "root" or document entity. Logically, the document is composed of declarations, elements, comments, character references, and processing instructions, all of which are indicated in the document by explicit markup. The logical and physical structures MUST nest properly, as described in Well-Formed Parsed Entities. 2.1 How to organize an FFXML file An FFXML file contains one root node, root node contains a set of "<collection>" nodes, every "<collection>" nodes contain a set of "<element>" nodes, every "<element>" nodes contain a set of nodes used for identifying the HTML element such as "<tagName>", "<type>", "<id>", "<name>", and every "<element>" nodes contain a set of nodes used for filling form such as "<text>", "<value>".
