EDXL-RM describes a suite of standard messages for data sharing among emergency and other information systems that deal in requesting and providing emergency equipment, supplies, people, and teams. HAVE specifies an XML document format that allows the communication of the status of a hospital, its services, and resources, including bed capacity and availability, emergency department status, and available service coverage. Congratulations to the Emergency Management TC chair, Elysa Jones of Warning Systems Inc (WSI), and to all TC participants including representatives of AtHoc, EDS, ESI Acquisition, Sandia National Laboratories, and WSI for this accomplishment. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200811/msg00001.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS SOA for Telecom (SOA-TEL) Technical Committee. SOA-TEL will work to identify gaps in standards coverage for using SOA techniques in a telecommunications environment, particularly for telecom operators/providers. SOA-TEL TC proposers include representatives of Microsoft, Avaya, BT, HP, NEC, Nortel, Telecom Italia, and others; Abbie Barbir of Nortel serves as convener. Designed as an all-hazards alert format, CAP is envisioned to be implemented worldwide for earthquakes, public health, and many other emergencies.
